Job Description
• To ensure that the applicable legislation and standards are applied across all aspects of Structural delivery to the Project. These include: British Standards, NORSOK, API, Company procedures and processes, Client codes and standards, HS&E Regulations (including LOLER) and EU Directives.
• To identify and implement safe, cost effective, fit for purpose, field proven designs.
• To maximise opportunities within design, to improve rig operability and maintainability.
• To provide engineering solutions that demonstrate added value to both the company’s Operations and Client.
• To provide technical interface with all other discipline engineers and Subcontractor and Specialist Engineering Vendors.
• To identify deviations to standards where necessary, ensuring acceptance of Client Technical Authorities.
• To report progress against project plans, to the Lead Structural Engineer noting any areas of concern and identifying corrective actions.
• To meet the requirements of the agreed schedule identified within the project plan for the Structural deliverables as assigned by the Lead Structural Engineer.
• To ensure that the cross discipline Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance and Operational requirements are accounted for within the design.
• Responsible for checking and/or approval of design deliverables, excluding calculations, specifications and technical procedures.
• To provide technical input during design phase, with an emphasis on constructability of the design.
• Authoring and compilation of Construction Workpack including production of Jobcards and Method Statement. Ensure all aspects of the Statement of Requirement (SOR) and Scope of Work (SOW) are addressed within the workpack.
• To interface with QHSE Engineer to ensure all necessary safety content is contained within the workpack.
• Identify increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documentation within the Change Management process.
• To generate the estimated study, design and procurement costs into Project CTR.
• To generate the estimated construction man hours and costs for construction scopes, materials and equipment into Project CTRs.
• To provide technical, ethical, professional leadership, support and mentoring to colleagues.
• To respect colleagues, clients and subcontractors at all levels, dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner.
• Any other reasonable duties as specified by Line Manager.
