Construction Lead


Job Description

We are recruiting a Construction Lead for our client in Aberdeen on a full time, permanent basis.

The Electrical and Instrument Construction Lead is responsible for all aspects of a contract relating to offshore or onshore construction activities. He/she will ensure that all construction activities are planned in accordance with client requirements and that sufficient tooling, equipment and personnel are supplied to execute the scope safely and efficiently.

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide input to company asset plans for the relevant contract ensuring that accurate and up to date information is included.
  • Prepare and review documents for approval to communicate installation sequencing, schedule timings.
  • Provide support in accordance with project requirements and procedures.
  • Assist with coordination of scopes of work within QUAD contract.
  • Support function with estimates and constructability and PEER reviews.
  • Maintain support for the Project Leads and JREs
  • Support the Construction Manager in the development of the contracting philosophy for the contract.
  • Ensure contract deliverables, documents and specifications are produced to meet the needs of the project schedule.
  • Assist with construction deliverables to suit the contract requirements.
  • Prepare and review for approval site safety procedures, work practices in conjunction with the HSSE Manager.
  • Review the contract requirements, and the constructability checklist to identify critical execution issues.
  • Assist with the overall schedule and the construction execution plan.
  • Incorporate construction specific requirements as required.
  • Prepare and review for approval, plans, drawings, specifications, requisitions and bid summaries for all temporary facilities and construction equipment required within the scope of work.
  • Prepare and review for approval construction specific site procedures and work practices as necessary to meet Client requirements, assisting with construction feasibility and method studies.

Leadership Activities

  • Identifying refresher and specialist training for onshore construction teams.
  • Providing subject matter expert advice when tendering projects.
  • Maintaining effective client/stakeholder relationships.
  • Participating in safety/incident investigations as required.
  • Maintaining professional standards, outlining behavioural expectations to ensure morale and productivity is maintained.
  • Ensure all key personnel hold the correct competencies for their responsibilities.
  • Uphold the core company values, inspire, and encourage the same throughout the Construction Team.

  • Undertake agreed training and development in order to provide a framework of knowledge and skills required to perform effectively in the team/department/business unit demonstrating ongoing competency required in role.
  • Participate in annual and regular performance appraisal with relevant supervisor and/or manager, identifying and agreeing objectives and targets in relation to personal development through our Grow Your Career initiatives.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Comply with and support the Business Management System within own scope of responsibilities and within the Company as a whole.
  • Responsible for developing, modifying and adhering to procedures and / or processes to support the System and its applications within own area of responsibilities.
Desired Qualities / Qualifications
  • Qualified to Degree Level in Relevant Discipline; and/or Trade Qualification 4-year apprenticeship/ and/or NVQ / SVQ Level 3;
  • Minimum of 5 Years Vocational Experience in an onshore support role or offshore supervisory role
  • Relevant Offshore Mandatory Requirements (Survival, Medical, MIST, EBS, etc.) this role may require offshore management visits.
