HSEQ Manager
Job Description
Job Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to control the company’s Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management systems and report the status of these systems to the Senior Management Team.
Main Responsibilities
To maintain and develop the Company’s Health & Safety & Environment Management Systems, Policy and Manual and accreditation statuses
To maintain and develop the group’s Quality Manual, Quality Policy and accreditation status.
Lead, Investigate and Implement appropriate preventative actions and mitigations using Safety 123 process: o Ensure prompt and effective response to incidents and accidents
Identify Root Cause and contributing factors
Prevent recurrence through correction actions. Communicate findings clearly and efficiently.
To promote an HSE culture and lead efforts to improve HSE and Quality performance.
To advise / support managers/supervisors on matters relating to Quality, Health, Safety & Environment.
To ensure that legal and ‘best practice’ is implemented as far as records, documentation, storage, retrieval, archiving, presentation and back-up are concerned to ensure compliant
To liaise with clients and suppliers on all matters concerning HSEQ
To co-ordinate all HSEQ documentation to ensure AJT Engineering’s IMS remains compliant with relevant standards
To effect continual improvement in the management information system of the group
To be the management representative for HSEQ and as such responsible for hosting 3rd party audits
To conduct internal audits, site tours / audits, supplier audits and create / issue reports accordingly and raise all findings within Progress Plus
Reporting to Management team on the performance of the HSEQ Management systems
To oversee the integrity and impartiality of inspection processes
To co-ordinate NDT Training and competency and budgetary responsibility for inspection compliance equipment
Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by Managing Director
Skills and Abilities
Possess computer skills and knowledge of using Microsoft software packages such as Word and Excel
Possess a high level of focus and attention to detail and accuracy
Organisational ability and time management skills
Excellent conversational, written English and arithmetical skills
Engineering background (preferably with recognised qualification)
Ability to understand, evaluate and apply specifications and standards
Demonstrated self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to represent the company in a professional manner
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality
Perform duties in a safe manner at all times, to prevent injury to yourself and your co-workers.
Adhere to HSEQ Policies and Procedures relevant to your work area and job function at all times
Do not undertake any task or job for which authorisation and/or training has not been given
Report all work related injuries, accidents, property damage, equipment damage, near misses and safety or environmental hazards to your supervisor
Job specific training will be identified from appropriate training matrices for your position
Desired Qualities / Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
Preferred (5) years of overall HSEQ Experience in a manufacturing environment
NEBOSH General Certificate and Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
Certified Member of IOSH
Lead Auditor Certificate
Must have working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
